Who Is Mr. Hunter?
Hello world! I'm Mr. Hunter, a 27-year-old Game Designer-turned-English Teacher from Vancouver Canada, currently living in Ibaraki, Japan. If you stumbled upon this blog, it's a pleasure to e-meet you; if you're a returning visitor, welcome back!
I'm a self-proclaimed nerdy ex-theatre kid who enjoys video games, anime, singing, and dancing. In this corner of the internet, I'll be jotting down thoughts, sharing my experiences, and hopefully, getting my students and fellow teachers excited about reading more in English.
Through this blog I try to explore and examine my new life here in Japan as well as document my travels and new experiences.
In addition to typical musings, I’ve also got the Otaku’s Oasis. A fun little haven for games and anime. New musings will be posted every Monday & Wednesday at 10AM (JST), and the Otaku’s Oasis will be updated every Friday at 10AM
Before I found my way to game design, I dreamt of becoming a writer. While I still harbor hopes of writing for games someday, this blog is my current playground for flexing those writing muscles.
For now, I'm sticking to the written word. Though if I get enough comments perhaps I’ll consider a video post or podcast. A blog feels more my style, allowing me to sound coherent and, dare I say, smart. If you were hoping for short, bite-sized content buckle up, my writing style tends to be long-winded with a penchant for commas (and brackets).
Stay tuned for more of my adventures in life and in writing. Feel free to join the conversation, share your thoughts, or toss topic ideas my way. Let's make this journey a shared experience!
