Please Enjoy My Musings
Hello World!
My name is Mr. Hunter, I’m an English teacher from Vancouver, Canada. I live and work in Ibaraki, Japan.
New Musings are posted every Monday and Wednesday at 10AM!(JST)
When I woke up on Tuesday, my body felt heavy, and I just wanted to roll over and go back to sleep. Despite what I expected, today would be my last day at one of my schools.
Unlike the other places two weekends ago, Asakusa ended up being a great place I’m glad I explored. It reminds me of what I like about Japan and was just what I needed after a series of misses.
I’ve been feeling like I’ve been in a bit of a rut lately, so after a pretty good week, I wanted to explore a little this past weekend.
What should have been a routine 7-11 run became quite the kerfuffle. I gathered my items, headed to the counter, and as I went to pay, I realized I forgot my wallet.
Last week, I had a two hour long zoom meeting talking about all the different things to consider for those leaving the JET programme.
Otaku’s Oasis articles go up every Friday at 10AM!
A series near and dear to my heart, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, got a brand new mobile game titled Madoka Magica Magia Exedra. It’s certainly a mouthful, but is it any good?
I usually let myself pick up two new games a month, some months that’s an easy decision. Sometimes, that decision is a lot harder.
In the first 3 days since launch over 8 million copies have been sold, so does it live up to such an achievement?
Every once in a while, you watch a show that just feels so inspired, so new, and yet so well executed. Pantheon is that show, and you should go watch it, like right now.
Despite just passing the 10 year anniversary it seems like the original version of Bloodborne might be all we get.
A beloved game of my childhood, Phantom Brave, that I finally finished just last year, got a surprising sequel 20 years later.
I was having a pretty slow day at work when another teacher struck up a conversation. Before I knew it, they had invited me out to karaoke on Friday night.
