Please Enjoy My Musings
Hello World!
My name is Mr. Hunter, I’m an English teacher from Vancouver, Canada. I live and work in Ibaraki, Japan.
New Musings are posted every Monday and Wednesday at 10AM!(JST)
Ideally you’ve noticed, or perhaps you haven’t, but I haven’t really been keeping up with the proposed schedule I set for this blog.
I’ve always enjoyed singing, at least for as long as I can remember. But, a rather unexpected side effect of moving to Japan is that I feel like I sing less often.
Podcasts have been part of my daily life for almost 6 years now. I started listening to them as a way to help time go by at work, and now I usually listen at least an hour or two every single day.
In just over a month, I’ll be back home for Christmas! After thinking it over, I decided I didn’t want to miss another Christmas with my family and friends.
One aspect of social media that I’ve never really been able to wrap my head, around is posting. Arguably, the reason social media exists, is just not something that seems to come naturally to me.
Otaku’s Oasis articles go up every Friday at 10AM!
Once again, it’s time to rank my top 10 anime of the year. Unlike last year, I had a bit of a harder time, there seemed to be less surprises this year.
Much like last year, this was another pretty great year for games, far too many to play them all! Of the ones I did get to play, there were a few that really stood out.
After 3 years of waiting, the second and final season of Arcane came out, and it’s fantastic. It seems like everyone can agree this is one of the best video game adaptations out there.
Technology has always been a useful, if not often revolutionary tool. It allows us to connect with people all over the world, get information in real time, and sometimes endlessly refresh an ongoing election while draining all our energy.
Atlus’ latest project, and newest IP since the first Persona game, Metaphor: ReFantazio, seems to be yet another masterpiece.
Palworld, when it launched in early access back in January 2024, reached over 2 million concurrent players on steam. This made it the second highest played game of all time on steam. As of February 22nd, it has sold over 15 million units.
As the Christmas season draws close, in some small way I start to get excited for the holidays. In a much larger way, I start to dread having to buy presents for the people in my life.
